Data, purposes and legal bases

  • Orders, payment, delivery and returns: names, contact details, addresses, order information and payment status, to take steps at your request and perform our contract with you. Required checkout details are needed to process and deliver your order; without them we cannot complete it.
  • Accounting and legal duties: transaction records needed to meet our legal obligations.
  • Customer enquiries, security and fraud prevention: correspondence and relevant technical information, based on our legitimate interests in providing customer support and protecting customers and our business, or on our contract where an enquiry concerns an order.
  • Marketing and checkout reminders: contact details and relevant shopping information where you have consented. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Optional analytics, advertising and personalisation: usage and device information where you consent through the cookie controls.

We receive information directly from you, through your use of the store and, where relevant, from payment and delivery providers about your transaction or shipment.

Recipients and transfers

We use Shopify to operate the store, checkout and Shopify Inbox chat. Where needed to fulfil your order, information is shared with payment providers and delivery partners, including Shipit and the carrier used for your shipment, such as Posti. Relevant records may also be shared with our accountant and authorities where legally required. Our store includes Facebook/Instagram and Google/YouTube integrations for optional advertising and analytics, subject to the applicable consent choices.

Shopify may process data outside the EU/EEA even where the store's hosting region is the EU. Its Data Processing Addendum, Appendix C describes the safeguards: Binding Corporate Rules for relevant transfers between Shopify entities and Standard Contractual Clauses or other applicable safeguards for other transfers. Other providers' roles and applicable transfer safeguards depend on the service used; contact us for information about the recipients and safeguards relevant to your data.

Retention

Retention depends on the purpose and type of record. Order and accounting records are kept for the applicable statutory retention period and, where necessary, to deal with claims. Enquiries and chat records are kept while needed to resolve the matter and any related follow-up or dispute. Abandoned-checkout information is kept only while needed for checkout recovery, consented reminders and related security purposes; it is not automatically treated as an accounting record. Marketing contact information is used until you withdraw consent or it is no longer needed for that purpose. A limited record of your opt-out may be retained to ensure we do not contact you again. Legal claims or obligations may require particular records to be kept longer. You can ask us which retention criteria apply to your information.

Your rights

You may have rights to access, correct or erase your data, restrict or object to processing, and receive your data in a portable format. Send requests to info@bonvivant.fi. You may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman. You can withdraw marketing consent using the unsubscribe link in marketing emails or by contacting us. You can change optional cookie consent through Cookie preferences in the footer. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and may object to direct marketing at any time. We respond to rights requests without undue delay and normally within one month, subject to the extensions and exceptions permitted by law. We may request information necessary to verify your identity. Erasure does not override a legal obligation to retain particular records.

Cookies

Essential cookies support the cart, security and payment functions. The consent banner lets you accept, decline or choose optional analytics, marketing and personalisation categories. You can reopen these choices using Cookie preferences in the footer. Declining optional cookies does not prevent you from shopping. The Shopify banner controls Shopify-managed consent and pixels; optional tracking must follow your choices.

AI-assisted customer chat

Our online chat uses Shopify Inbox and an AI assistant powered by Shopify. Shopify processes the information you provide in chat to generate replies and to improve Shopify Inbox over time. Our staff may review conversations and help with your enquiry. AI replies may be inaccurate; you can ask for human help or contact info@bonvivant.fi. Please do not share passwords, payment-card details or sensitive personal information in chat. Personal order information requires sign-in.
